Big Al | Why we must all guard our 'secrets'

"Most of us have gotten very nosy about everything and everybody. But many of us fail to realize how nosy others are about us."

-- Retired Chairman and CEO Al Neuharth, writing yesterday in his weekly USA Today column about the release of the latest trove of WikiLeaks documents. On Wednesday, I reported the non-profit Freedom Forum last year paid Neuharth $216,094 in wages plus $262,235 for expenses as the journalism foundation's founder. It did not say what Neuharth, 86, did to earn the money.

  1. I love Al's columns. They serve as a great reminder that one needn't write anything interesting or informative in order to be published. Just knowing the right people will do.

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
