The weather's great, so I'm taking a break

Across the nation, temperatures are higher exactly where you'd expect them to be in early January, according to USA Today's weather map at 2:45 p.m. ET: It's warmest in the southeast and especially in Florida, where Gannett employs hundreds.

In San Francisco at mid-day, the sky was cobalt blue behind the marquee of our neighborhood's famous Castro Theatre (left). The local weather forecast is for sun and temps in the high 60s -- a perfect excuse to spend less time blogging. But I'll stay on top of e-mail, so keep those comments coming.

  1. OK, OK, don't rub it in!

  2. Really! It's a balmy 17 degrees here in Wisconsin, with wind chills of minus 40 predicted for Wednesday. Guess what all our front pages will be trumpeting?

  3. Could be worse. The Packers could be in the playoffs...

Please keep your posts focused on Gannett and media-related subjects. Note that I occasionally review comments in advance, to reject inappropriate ones. And I ignore hostile posters, and recommend you do, too."
